An Evening with Andrew McKnight – Nov. 12, 7PM – 9PM

David’s Music House is presenting “An Evening with Andrew McKnight on our Coffee House stage. There is a request for donations of $10 – $20 (at the door) for this performance, but no one will be turned away.

Andrew tours nationally doing solo performances, and mid-Atlantic festivals and concerts with his quartet Beyond Borders along with Grammy-nominee and founding Nitty Gritty Dirt Band member Les Thompson and singer/songwriters Lisa Taylor and Stephanie Thompson. Andrew’s solo performances are a bit like one man theatre; the songs are woven together with humorous stories and poetic drama, and the musical soundscape traversing influences from Appalachia, tasteful slide and jazzy blues, feisty anthems, rustic folk, and even a little fancy flatpicking on a Carter Family tune. Over the last couple of years Andrew has been part of the Rocky Mountain, South Florida, Boston and Delmarva Folk Festival lineups, and performed at dozens of listening rooms, theatres, and house concerts across the U.S.. His latest CD Something Worth Standing For was a Top 12 DIY choice of Performing Songwriter Magazine, and a finalist for the Washington Area Music Awards Album of the Year. The song “Good Things Matter” is a past Winner of Great American Song Contest (Acoustic/Folk).

“I’ve been a guest on NPR’s “Art of the Song” and “River City Folk” shows as well as dozens of public and community stations nationwide, and my music is also frequently heard on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio“. – Andrew McKnight.
