Happy New Year!

It’s a new year and time to reflect on the past, but more importantly, use what we’ve learned from our past experiences to shape a direction for what is to be. I am a firm believer in “things happen for a reason” but that doesn’t mean you wait for these “things” to happen on their own. We create ideas, make choices, have options on how we react to challenges we face. It has been my experience that when we are younger, we tend to think of our experiences as things that happen to us. As we get older, we begin to realize that how we react and how we face issues places us on a path of what happens next. Of course, this is not absolute, as many things just happen and are out of our control, but even then, how we react to them creates the path of what follows from that point. As we reflect on the past, we can realize and appreciate that “things happen for a reason”.

This past year has been a challenging one for all of us! As we all search for ways to deal with the stresses of our everyday lives, here at David’s Music House, we try to provide a sort of “haven” for the community. The “House” in David’s Music House coveys that we want to be your extended family and our Big Living Room Coffee House is a comfortable place to come anytime and enjoy a warm premium coffee or tea, read or use our FREE WiFi to do some work while your traveling about or just browse the net. If you’re a parent bringing your child to a lesson, how often have you had to sit in your car in a driveway, or in some unfriendly sitting room or even worse, some basement with a strange family pet walking across your laptop? DMH provides a family friendly living room with beverages, deserts and snacks to enjoy while you wait, out of the cold. Occasionally, you may be fortune enough to have an area musician rehearsing or performing a concert on our Coffee House Stage. Where else can you get that?

David’s Music House is bringing some exciting ideas in the New Year… new promotions, new concerts, the South Hill’s BEST Open Mic Night every Saturday. We are constantly updating our music learning program and will be introducing some awesome new ideas in 2012.
