David’s Music House has a mission of helping any student of music discover “WHY” they are learning music. We always have a solid focus, which is providing all the teaching, mentoring, support, encouragement and Inspiration possible to every student. Every teacher is screened and goes through an orientation process to insure that every student who comes to David’s Music House has access to ALL the resources possible. New teachers who request to be a part of what David’s Music House brings to music education are excited to discover our NEW approach to teaching! Each new teacher undergoes a rigorous process before they are given a student to teach. This training is not to change each teacher’s personal style and experience of giving lessons, but more of a methodology that brings teamwork and the mission of David’s Music House. Teachers who are extremely experience end up mentoring newer teachers in skills they have acquired, while newer teachers will often introduce a new perspective to a teacher who has been using the same methods for many years and finds a new approach quite helpful. There’s something to learn by all members of the team.

When anyone comes into David’s Music House for a FREE consultation, they are given a tour of everything DMH has to offer and are overwhelmed to find a setting unlike anything they ever would have expected. New students have the entire teaching team as available resources to them. Students can benefit from substitute teachers who may offer a new exciting viewpoint or a student may want to investigate a completely different instrument and that is easily managed at DMH. There are NO jealousies or individual teacher ownership of students because ALL DMH Students belong to David’s Music House and all that it offers. There’s also no need for teachers to be worried about a student moving to a different teacher because they always know that a new student is sure to be assigned to them very quickly. Everything we do is all about the student and their parents wishes.

There is ample and easy parking, we are easy to find as we are directly on a main route through the South Hills of Pittsburgh, PA.  Once you come into David’s Music House, you will immediately feel the comfort and friendship of entering a living room of a home. We have ample soft couches and chairs, tables, FREE WiFi, games to play while you wait, a Music Library of books to read about music learning.

We will always stive to be ahead of the curve on new technology and teaching/mentoring methods. Every teacher at David’s Music House is a resource for any DMH student. We are a team, better yet, we are a FAMILY of mentors, here to help anyone, of any age, discover the love of music and the arts.

I want to personally thank each and every DMH student and their family for your continued support and for spreading the word to the community about the musical enrichment and value you have found by choosing David’s Music House for your Music Education.

Peace and Love,

David

A Special Season of Thanks & Celebration of Blessings

Fall can be looked at in two ways…as nature closes down and prepares itself for the long, cold winter…. or as a beginning of gathering times when we all congregate together over warm beverages, sweet pumpkin flavors and sharing of times and friendships in comfy chairs and listen to some amazing music. This is a great time to move away from the hot and crazy summer hectic lives and relieve our stress with the sound of music! All of us at ‘da House are set to give thanks to all of our students and their families, as well as the community of musicians and music lovers who have been making David’s Music House their second home. We have some great music events lined up to celebrate and give our thanks to all of you.

On November 10th, David’s Music House is just the place to come as we bring a celebration of Classic Country songs from legends like Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Cash, Hank Thompson, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Buck Owens and many others. Rock and roll has their “oldies” groups, those keeping the music of the 50′s and 60′s alive. Now, the local country scene has Black Horse to accomplish the same.

Also, this November 17th, David’s Music House brings a South Hills favorite entertainer and close friend, Bradley Bendis. Brad has been a firm supporter and promoter of David’s Music House since we began in October of 2010. Brad will be singing some of his favorite folk and country legends and will also be playing with his band, These Old Bones, who will each perform individually as well. This will be a great evening of music to be sure.

To round out our musical events, we bring back a Special performance from Alayna performing with John Michael (Johnny Bee from the John Michael Band) on Thanksgiving Eve, November 21st. This will be an evening of fun, food, music, laughter, conversation, and thanks. This concert will also be an interactive workshop as Alayna will be talking about how she is pursuing her musical dreams and there will be a question & answer time so students, get your questions ready.

SPOILER ALERT: David’s Music House Teachers are gearing up their students for a “Hollywood Holiday Concert” which is scheduled to be on December 20th, so be sure to mark your calendars for that.

Once again, all of us at David’s Music House wish all the blessings, good health and prosperity possible to all our “Special DMH Family and Community” and hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday with loved ones and friends!
